Verticy Reading Supplement

The Verticy Reading program is individualized to carefully assess and identify the needs of children who struggle with reading and composition. Throughout the program, your child will be working on solidifying phonological and phonemic awareness skills, which are essential to the acquisition of reading skills.

Our program is based on the Orton-Gillingham method of multi-sensory learning, which follows the logical order of language. Lessons teach students to think through language problems when reading and spelling, rather than guess, and new skills are continuously practiced to ensure retention, automatic retrieval, and application.

For these all-important Phonics/Spelling and Grammar/Composition subjects, Verticy has employed the use of color-coding, rather than grade level designations, for your student's specialized course. We currently offer four levels of instruction, ranging from our beginner level (Orange) to our most advanced level (Red) of instruction for struggling readers.
