Education Counselors & LLD Specialists

Our Education Counselors and LLD Specialists are experienced teachers that offer you and your student ongoing support throughout the year. Every family enrolled in Verticy may contact them via phone, e-mail, or through Live Chat to get answers to curriculum questions. In addition to answering curriculum questions, Education Counselors and LLD Specialists help you address any concerns that arise by offering alternative teaching strategies and other practical advice. Education Counselors and LLD Specialists are also available to answer pre-enrollment questions. Lesson Manual

Verticy Learning Lesson Manuals allow you to focus on teaching, not planning, by providing you with complete daily plans for all subjects. Our manuals offer detailed, step-by-step instruction that introduces topics, explains concepts, coordinates subjects with each other, suggests added practice and enrichment, and provides discussion questions to ensure understanding. The Lesson Manual is the key ingredient to successfully home schooling.  Plus, our structure allows you to set your own pace so you and your child have the most productive educational experience possible. Instructional Strategies Video

Verticy Learning will provide you with a complimentary DVD that demonstrates exercises you can practice with your child to prepare for this specialized course.  You will receive this DVD when you receive your curriculum package.

 

 

Verticy Live Tutor

Verticy Learning students have the option of meeting with a Verticy Live Tutor for personal, one-on-one, interactive tutoring sessions in Language Arts and Literature.  Sessions run 30 minutes each and can be accessed from your home computer. Parents and students identify the concepts they want to address and information the Verticy Tutor when the session is arranged. These sessions can be purchased one at a time, or in a bundle of 10 for a 20% discount. Please see the Grade pages under the Curriculum tab for pricing information. Contact a Client Services Representative to enroll your student in the Verticy Live Tutor service. Sessions are filling up fast!

 

 

The Optional Advisory Teaching Service (ATS)

Enhance your home school experience with Verticy Learning Academy's signature service.  Your student will be assigned a personal educational specialist that will guide the student and parent through the school year.

 

One substantial benefit of this service is that the students of Verticy Learning Academy will receive appropriate accommodations for their ability level.  For example, when an Advisory Teacher grades a Verticy student's original composition they evaluate the content of the writing rather than focus solely on spelling and handwriting errors.     

 

ATS offers personalized instructional support at a great value. Eight times through the year, the Advisory Teacher evaluates a set of tests-one in each subject area-to assess your child's academic performance and offer individual guidance and encouragement. While you, the Home Teacher, are the most important influence on your child, ATS adds the following elements:

 

  • Assistance in specific need areas such as teaching strategies
  • A partner to reinforce the observations and instructional priorities that you, the Home Teacher, have set for your child
  • An evaluation of your child's work in all subjects, giving detailed feedback on composition, mechanics, and processing skills
  • Motivation for your child to do his or her best work to earn positive reinforcement from the Advisory Teacher
  • A personal letter from your Advisory Teacher sent with each set of corrected tests
  • A certificate of completion and a transcript (available upon request)

 

Read-Aloud ATS 
As part of the Advisory Teaching Service, your Advisory Teacher will listen to your student read using the Read-Aloud ATS feature. Simply have your student call the ATS recording service on the telephone.  Your Advisory Teacher will listen to your child reading assigned material and provide feedback.
