Verticy Learning Academy offers the first comprehensive, home-based educational experience specifically designed to address the needs of students with language-based learning differences. Verticy incorporates specialized learning strategies, flexible pacing by subject, and technology-based tools designed to assist students with LLDs in overcoming obstacles to learning. While the parent delivers daily instruction in the home using easy, step-by-step lesson plans and integrated technology, the family enjoys the option of working in conjunction with a certified teacher. The teacher establishes a relationship with your student and assists in monitoring his or her academic progress. Our curriculum allows students to customize their daily study of individual subjects to match their skill level in different areas. No longer is your student required to study all subjects at one grade level.

The Online Screening Assessment is Now Available!

 

The Verticy Learning Academy online screening assessment is the first step in determining if your child may benefit from Verticy Learning's unique program.  Take the online screening assessment.  You will be prompted to create a username and password to gain access to the screening assessment.  

 

We recommend reviewing the Materials Delivery Schedule for the 2008/2009 school year before taking the assessment.

Introducing Verticy Live Tutor

Now, Verticy Learning students have the option of meeting with a Verticy Live Tutor in a live, one-on-one tutoring session from the comfort of their home computer.  Parents and students simply need to identify the subject area which they would like to address and inform the Verticy Tutor before the session is arranged.  Sessions run 30-minutes each and may be purchased individually or in bundles of 10 for a 20% discount.  Call our Client Services team for more information or to sign up for your sessions today!  1-888-544-7116


Is Your Student Enrolled? - The Verticy Advisory Teaching Service (ATS)

Enhance your home school experience with Verticy Learning Academy's optional Advisory Teaching Service (ATS).  Your student will be assigned a personal educational specialist that will guide the student and parent through the school year. 

One substantial benefit of this service is that the students of Verticy Learning Academy will receive appropriate accommodations for their ability level.  For example, when an Advisory Teacher grades a Verticy student's original composition they evaluate the content of the writing rather than focus solely on spelling and handwriting errors.  While you, the Home Teacher, are the most important influence on your child, ATS adds the following elements:

  • Assistance in specific need areas such as teaching strategies
  • A partner to reinforce the observations and instructional priorities that you, the Home Teacher, have set for your child
  • An evaluation of your child's work in all subjects, giving detailed feedback on composition, mechanics, and processing skills
  • Motivation for your child to do his or her best work to earn positive reinforcement from the Advisory Teacher
  • A personal letter from your Advisory Teacher sent with each set of corrected tests
  • A certificate of completion and a transcript (available upon request)
